But progress remains possible that despite increased flexibility and excellence is all running slow . II.2 Learning Teaching and learning activities is an essential activity in the overall education process in schools . This means that educational objectives achieved or not depends only on how the learning process experienced by students as a protege . A fairly comprehensive understanding of learning given to Bell - Gredler ( 1986 : 1 ) which states that learning is a process undertaken by humans to get variety : abilities ( competencies ) . skills ( skills) and attitudes ( attitudes ) were acquired in stages and sustainable ranging from infancy to old age through a series of life-long learning process . Learning as a process of human , has an important position and role , both in life and modern society . In a more comprehensive view of the concept of learning can be extracted from various sources such as philosophy , empirical research , and theory . Philosophers have developed the concept of a systematic study on the basis of the reasoning and logical reality of truth , goodness and beauty . Because of that philosophy is a coherent view of the view of human relationships with the universe . Figure II.3 Media Instructional media is anything that can function in the delivery of instructional messages . But the media still images also have disadvantages , such as : a. Usually limited in size so it is less effective for large group learning . b . Comparisons are less precise than an object will cause misperceptions . II.4 Framework In this research study using a still image media on science teaching class IV ( Four ) material senses of smell ( nose ) . Or nasal olfactory senses is one part of the human senses . The nose has the function to smell something . To facilitate the study parts of the nose will require appropriate media . Media still images is relatively simple visual media . The use of drawing media will attract students to study so that messages can be received by the learning more effective and can improve student learning outcomes . II.5 Summary of Material Sense of smell ( nose ) Nose breathing is a tool we are there on the outside . In which there hairs that serve to filter the incoming air . And can be used to smell a rat . Surface of the nasal cavity contains many blood vessels so it is always warm . Nasal cavity mucous membrane is coated which is always moist .
