| CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background Education has a crucial role for the development of the individual and the development of a nation . The success of an education is influenced by the state of the students themselves . The factors that influence the success of student learning are of two kinds , namely internal factors and external factors . One external factor is the existence of means of student learning , such as textbooks , learning tools and study room with amenities . Of these two factors can affect student interest , such as media images . Frequently encountered both at home and at school if elementary age children are seen opening a book first is an image , not text. As well as student interest in science lessons . Science this is considered to be difficult subjects for students in general it should be understood due to the wide range of materials in science teaching . Difficulties experienced by students can be seen from the test results obtained and the level of student understanding . Particularly on the material senses smell . One reason is the lack of student interest on this matter . From this background , the authors are interested in doing research to increase student interest in science teaching media drawing class IV ( four ) SD Negeri 1 Restu Buana Rumbia District Central Lampung regency . 1.2 Problem Formulation 1.2.1 Problem Formulation Formulation of the problem in this research is " How can student interest in understanding the material in the human olfactory senses grade IV ( Four ) SD Negeri 1 Restu Buana Central Lampung District Rumbia " . 1.2.2 Research Questions . Research questions that will be answered in this study are : a. Whether media images can improve students' interest in the matter of human olfactory senses b . What difficulties experienced by students in understanding the material sense of smell in humans . 1.3 Research Objectives The purpose of this study is : 1.2.1 Knowing the media images can improve students' interest in learning the material human olfactory senses in grade IV ( Four ) SD Negeri 1 Restu Buana Rumbia District Central Lampung regency . 1.2.2 Knowing what difficulties experienced by students in understanding the material sense of smell in humans . |
